In May ÃÛÌÒÅ®º¢ students in Year 7 and 9 will take part in the 2022 National Literacy & Numeracy Assessment, along with all other Australian students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. Students will sit assessments in writing, reading, language conventions (spelling, grammar & punctuation) and numeracy. Next Thursday 24 March ÃÛÌÒÅ®º¢ students in Year 7 and 9 will participate in an Australia wide writing practice test to familiarize themselves with the NAPLAN process and the type of questions that will be asked.
Extra study is not expected but laptops and earphones/earbuds will be required for this online test. Students should be prepared by making sure their laptop is fully charged the night before - and most importantly bring it to school with them.
NAPLAN results are useful indicators to help teachers identify students who may need extra support, or greater challenges. Schools use overall results to identify strengths and areas needed to improve teaching programs.
Parents can use their individual student results to prompt conversations with school teachers, in areas where you may have a concern.
Please support your student with reassurance that the NAPLAN test is just another part of the school program, and they should just do their best!. More parent information is attached for further reading.
