As part of our Early Commencement program, students from the Year 12 VCE VM Work Related Skills classes and selected Year 11 students took part in the work readiness program, POLISH.

Students workshopped how to identify their skills and strengths and develop an elevator pitch. They then met with mentors from various businesses who delivered a panel presentation on their employment and conducted individual mock interviews with each student.

Students come away from the event with a renewed confidence, ready for the world of work and interview preparation.

Feedback from students who took part included:

I really enjoyed how they answered our inquiries and showed that they enjoyed being here and talking to us and gave us really good tips on how to go into an interview.鈥

鈥淚t helped give me more confidence in myself and get to hear people鈥檚 experiences.鈥

鈥淚 gained valuable knowledge for the future.鈥

Comments from volunteer presenters included:

鈥淟oved the opportunity and students were interactive and engaged.鈥

鈥淭hese children are our future鈥

鈥淧hil was great with the kids and clearly explained the processes. The kids were interactive and were happy to engage once they felt comfortable.鈥
